As buyers whip out their credit cards to absorb the cost of holiday shopping, one issue must loom in the minds of many: How may I protect myself from identity theft?
In a year that saw hackers steal 45 million credit and debit card numbers from clients of TJX (which owns T.J. Maxx and Marshalls), galore humans are nervous with regards to buying goods on the Internet and in stores. According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), identity theft cost Americans $3 billion last year.
