Glamping is short for ‘Glamour Camping’. Glamping is for those who receive pleasure from the outdoors but dread the hassle of tents, sleeping bags, dirt, critters and overused campground bathrooms. It combines galore of the luxuries you’d suppose to find at a four-star resort with numerous of the best distinct features of camping. Glamping accommodations may include a raised tent cabin with a front porch, running water, electricity, ordinary beds with comforters, heating, bathrooms with showers, kitchenettes with microwave and more. We only know of three campgrounds in California that we would consider a unfeigned glamping experience; El Capitan Canyon located north of Santa Barbara along the Pacific Coast, TreeBones Resort along California’s Central Coast in Big Sur and the Sequoia High Sierra Camp in Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park.

Treebones Resort is located in the heart of Big Sur on California’s Central Coast. Situated 25 miles north of San Simeon and 65 miles south of Monterey, Treebones is perched on a hillside overlooking Highway 1 and the Pacific Ocean. There’s a great deal of seclusion being nestled in a sycamore and redwood forest with no major town within 25 miles and finish lack of cell. They offer 16 yurts featuring polished wood floors, redwood decks, plush queen-size beds with linens and comforters, heaters, electric lighting, sinks with hot & cold running water and French door entries. Showers and restrooms are centrally located. Resort amenities include a restaurant serving fresh gourmet meals from sushi to filet mignon, a heated pool & spa, massage service and live music on Saturday nights for the duration of the summer. Resort activenesses include hiking, kayaking, surfing, swimming and beach combing.

El Capitan Canyon is located approximately 20 miles north (west) of Santa Barbara on Highway 1. Take the exit for El Capitan Campground and state beach. On the ocean side of the highway is El Capitan State Beach with campgrounds and a great deal of beach access. On the inland side is El Capitan Canyon supplying more than 130 cabins and lavishness tents along picturesque El Capitan Creek. Their Cedar Cabins feature front porches, peak ceilings, full bathrooms, king, queen or double beds, heating, fine linens and towels, kitchenettes with microwave, mini-fridge, wet bar sink and coffeemaker. A picnic table with benches, grill and fire pit are located just outside each cabin for outdoor gatherings. The Safari Tents feature numerous of the same amenities as the cabins minus the full bath and kitchenettes. El Capitan Canyon has not so long ago added Adventure Yurts to it is accommodation choices. These round tent cabins feature wooden platforms, electricity, frequent beds and a domed skylight. Resort amenities include a market & deli, heated swimming pool, complimentary beach cruiser bikes and Saturday evening summer concerts. The market sells camping furnishes and souvenir gifts while the deli serves up gourmet fare and barbeque kits from hot dogs to tri-tip. Beach access is only a short stroll underneath the freeway and down a forest trail through sycamore trees to the state beach. No motorized vehicles are permitted in the canyon, so visitors are shuttled to their cabins.

Sequoia High Sierra Camp is located off the Generals Highway amongst Lodgepole in Sequoia National Park and Grant Grove in Kings Canyon. Choose to arrive thru a strenuous 12-mile hike from Highway 198 at the Lodgepole Visitor Center, or the one-mile trek from the Marvin Pass trailhead parking lot at the end of Big Meadow Horse Corral Road. The Sequoia High Sierra Camp offers 36 tent cabins with wood floors, area rugs, plush-top beds, feather pillows, oversize shuttered windows, chairs and tables, each and everyday maid service and toiletries. Three meals a day are included and served in the dining tent, which include a wide selection of gourmet fare. The bathhouse includes private shower stalls, dressing areas, sinks, flush toilets, towels and toiletries. Local actions include hiking, fishing, sightseeing, spelunking and horseback riding.

At anyplace from $150 to $500 per night for two guests, glamour camping is not the cheap substitute to hotel accommodations. In fact, most glamping emplacements may be more per night than the nearest resort. But there’s something to be said with regards to being in the outdoors with not one thing more than a layer of canvas separating you from the fresh air and wind brushing through the trees… specially if there’s no dirt involved. One could argue that these resorts are providing an amenity more worthful than any other brick-n-mortar resort may offer. For those looking to spend less on something among camping and glamping, there are various choices for economy tent cabins and yurts allround California. Some of these are lakeside resorts providing a heap of amenities to High Sierra camps that may only be reached thru numerous miles of hiking. These camps include Big Sur Campground and Cachuma Lake on the Central Coast, Coloma Resort Campground in the heart of Gold Country, Tuolumne Meadows Lodge, White Wolf Lodge, Curry Village Tent Cabins and various High Sierra Camps in Yosemite National Park, Bearpaw High Sierra Camp in Sequoia National Park and Two Harbors Campground and Hermit Gulch Campground on Catalina Island in Southern California.

1very poor “upgrade” of what was a good product
By R. parry
The “brand new” Purell hand wipes are a terrible new version of what were great hand wipes previously made by Purell and Cojo. The previous wipes (with alcohol) were larger 6 X 8″ soft waffle cloth that worked well for any cleanup or sanitizing. The old version no longer made or available were clothlike and could clean while sanitizing. The new version are smaller hard paper similar to wax paper with liquid dripping from the hard paper. It is useless in cleaning and very rough on any surface. It has NO absorbing properties. I would never buy again.

1Horrible, doesn’t even compare to the original
By JiveTurkey
I would give this product negative stars if I could. This is by far the absolute worst “new” version of a product I have ever seen. The wipes are tiny in comparison to the original 6″x8″ wipes. And “wipes” isn’t really being accurate in describing this new product. They’re more like small pieces of paper dipped in greasy alcohol. If you poured some alcohol on your hands & rubbed them together you’d get about the same effect as you would if you used one of these new wipes. The original 6″x8″ were not only bigger, they were much more absorbent, so that when you used them, you were actually able to wipe your hands. As opposed to winding up with drippy wet hands with the new product.

This new product is a shameful, inferior version of the original. I suggest you stock up on as much of the original product as you can before supplies run out. After the original wipes supply runs out, I’m afraid I will have to start using Wet Ones, which are not much better than the new Purell wipes, however I refuse to give the GoJo company my business for what they have done. Really, they should be ashamed of themselves. They know that the new wipes are horrible, yet they will sell them anyway, so they can make more money for themselves, rather than make their customers happy.

1Very Poor “Improvement” on a Once Excellent Product
By E. Walcutt Brown
This product replaced a first rate product by Purell, the 8×6 size, which was excellent. The “improved” wipe is much smaller at the 5×7 size. It is very small, is rough to the skin, and dries out immediately Also, because the put the new one in a cheaper packet, the wipe often dries out before it can be used. This is a wretched product! The manufacturer would be wise to bring back the better quality product and discontinue THIS one, even if it does cost a bit more. These ones are virtually useless compared to the discontinued larger ones. Try to obtaine 8×6 size before they are no longer available. This decision by the manufacturer was pure craziness! Or try another brand.. This product isn’t what you want. Trust me on this one.
