Vision cookware was in the first place fictitious by Corning, which has since went through Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and emerged as a privately kept company called World Kitchen – LLC. World Kitchen presently has business units that formulate such well-known and well-respected brand names as Corning Ware, Pyrex and Baker’s Secret. Although the cookware is still for sale, a good number of published reports state that the cookware is not being fictitious anymore in it is introductory design.

Product Information

The Vision cookware was revolutionary in that it was exclusively see-through, yet could be exceedingly serviceable. By being see through, a cook may check on cooking progress of the feed without lifting lid and altering the temperature of the feed that is being cooked. This cookware is so functional that it may be applied on the stove top, in the oven or microwave, or placed in the refrigerator or freezer without requiring further and added storage containers. It is commended to fetch the cookware and stored feed to room temperature before moving from one extreme temperature to the other, for example, unthaw completely when moving from freezer to microwave.

Because Vision is made of a glass-ceramic mixture rather of a metal alloy, it was designed to withstand a high range of temperatures, both hot and cold. The glass-ceramic mixture is utterly non-permeable, so the cooking surface will not react with acidic foods or absorb feed smells.

There are no limitations on the type of utensil that could be used with this type of product; metals will not scratch the surface. In addition, it is considered among the easiest cookware to clean after feed has burnt inside it.

Cleaning:

Cleaning a piece of Vision cookware is easy. It is 100% dishwasher safe, but may likewise be hand-washed. Abrasive cleaners are not recommended, but nylon pads and a baking soda/water paste may be employed for tough stuck-on foods.

The abrasive cleaners, such as scouring powder or pads, have been reported by some buyers to scratch the surface.

Consumer Information

In the early to mid-90′s, the Consumer Product Safety Commission received a number of complaints that Vision merchandise will unexpectedly explode or shatter into sharp pieces when dropped or when left untended on a very hot stove. Although the reports of these incidences are not in abundance, the threat of risk is still very real.

For this reason, buyers are advised to discontinue using this cookware as soon as any scratches, chips or cracks are visible.

On the other hand, Vision cookware is still in high demand. The groups that carry on to demand the special glass-ceramic cookware include antiquate collectors, cookware collectors and those loyal clients who have applied the cookware for years without incident. The glass-ceramic nature of the cookware is considered exceedingly bio-friendly and a great deal of persons still prefer that type of cookware over any others.

Where to purchase:

Some pieces with the Vision cookware name may still be purchased online but if you want applied cookware, it is best to look for employed cookware on web sites such as e-bay and Amazon as well as auctions, flea markets and garage sales.

4strainer pot

Good heating, attractive, I do not like the pot and lid handles as they get way to hot.

4Newer is Not Always Better
By C. Silva
Somewhat disappointed that it wasn’t made as heavy as the product used to be made. I bought the exact pan a few years ago and decided to get another one. When it arrived I noticed right away that it had a lighter feel to it. I wish the company would go back to making it the way they used to. The old model was my favorite pan and I used it all the time. I use the new one often but it feels “cheaper”.

1Disappointed
By Liane
I generally don’t buy cookware with riveted handles, but I love the pouring spouts on this cookware. I have had the larger 3Qt pot with lid and pouring spout for several years. I love it and use it constantly … so I thought I would give the smaller sauce pots a go!

I recently ordered two of the small, Wearever, 1.2 quart saucepans from Amazon … and was terribly disappointed. One out of the two leaks badly at the left side pop rivet. Unfortunately, I walked away about one minute after putting my brand new pot on the stove. I was making a honey infused sauce. The mess this darned pot made of my rather expensive, stainless steel, Bosch gas stove was horrendous! By the time I came back to the stove (maybe three minutes later), about 1 inch of the liquid from the pot had leaked all over the surface of the stove and the flame from the burner cooked it onto the surface of the stove. It took quite some time and a lot of elbow grease to clean up. All I can say is thank God for the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They really are magic! Without them, my stovetop might have been permanently damaged.

I grew up using Wearever products and this experience has pretty much ended my relationship with them. Really poor quality control! How can ANY company sell a product with pop riveted handles and not at least test them to make sure the rivets don’t leak? The other pot seems fine so far, but for obvious reasons, I don’t have a lot of faith in it. I will certainly use it, but I intend to watch it like a hawk.

I live in the British Virgin Islands, so sending it back to the US really isn’t worth the time, energy or postage. I threw it in the garbage. It’s sad that things aren’t made the way they used to be and that once trusted brand names seem to be losing user trust due to inferior quality control. Sigh.

For obvious reasons, I can’t recommend this product. I really am sorry. Up until now I always thought Wearever was a very affordable and well made brand. Not so much anymore it seems. :(
