doesn’t close softly.

I was under the impression that the lid on this thing would close softly like the bigger models. Not a big deal. I just want to mention it in case people are getting this can over another because they want a soft closing lid.

It’s still a great product though I’m not sure if it’s that much better than the $6 cans I saw at TJMAXX

Perfect for my new bath

I’ve had another stainless steel wastebasket in my bath for years now. I like the clean look, and how you don’t see the contents every time you look down. This one is on the smaller side, which fits in well with the size of my bath. These are not rust-proof, however, and you may find a need to go over the outside with some type of cleaning product once in awhile.

Functional and Pragmatic

I like the way Simple Human is constantly improving their products. The details in this trash can validate the cost compared to items that look like it. For example, we had a similar one that you could not pull the bag out of without lifting the entire can, and the foot pedal broke after less than a year. This baby is holding up to stomps by four people, including two five year olds. it looks good sitting out on the floor, and the bag comes out easily. I will say that the bags are a minor issue – you really need Simple Human bags. Also the bag suggested for this can looks good, but it easily slips into the can, a messy experience. We opted for a slightly larger bag. yes, the bag is visible now, but it never slides into the can. The bags themselves are tough and easy to use though and we get a large box a few times a year at Bed Bath and Beyond.
